2nd annual midwest dancehall queen competition 2006

this is the 2nd year of the annual official midwest dancehall queen competition.  it took place in chicago at the taste entertainment center.  as usual, the dancehall crowd is a late one, so people started trickling in around midnight and then the place started filling up by 2am.  at 230am the show began.  the judges this year were reggae singer twilite, dj eisha and bad girl representative lisa lisa.  the host, as last year, was chicago's own d-mose.  the soundsystems included refugee camp soundsystem, fireworks, and phantom of madsquad. 
  this year we were especially lucky to have big head himself join us-the man behind the international dancehall queen competition, the largest in the world, that takes place in montego bay jamaica and attracts a crowd of 8,000 plus patrons and features contestants from all over the world!
the contest started out with some juggling by refugee camp soundsystem and everyone had a really nice time dancing, but they were still eagerly awaiting the start of the competition.

at 230am the girls lined up onstage and were introduced by d-mose.  they each took the mic and then began one by one to showcase thier round 1 routines.
