marley in chicago (3/2002), courtesy of princess:::::
From beginning to end he
displayed a well rounded, energic performance. It was similar to his past show (that was
at the Park West), however without the Ghetto Youth crew he stood out on his
own. Damian was more focused and mesmerized the crowd as he sang his tunes
from the Halfway Tree album. His 2 hr performance manifested well into the
night, while the crowd expectation seemed to have been met. The
crowd danced and didn't seem to mind the cramped conditions at the sold out
show.
After the meet n greet, he displayed more professionalism as a young
artist and all around great musician, by signing autographs, and taking snapshots for
his fans. Damian was very much down to earth and rooted to the people, generating the
Marley vibes.
A s a young grammy
artist he definietly rises up to the occasion, pon a certain level and caliber he
stands on his own. In any case, it doesn't surprise me that
Damian Marley is at this stage of life. I have great admiration for him bridging
the gap of hip hop and reggae as a musician.
